About Mina
Mina V. Esguerra writes and publishes romance novels. Her young adult/fantasy trilogy Interim Goddess of Love is a college love story featuring gods from Philippine mythology. Her contemporary romance novellas won the Filipino Readers’ Choice awards for Chick Lit in 2012 (Fairy Tale Fail) and 2013 (That Kind of Guy). In 2013, she founded #RomanceClass, a community of Filipino authors of romance in English, and it has since helped over 100 authors write and publish romance books. She is also a media adaptation agent, working with LA-based Bold MP to develop romance media by Filipino creatives for an international audience. My name is Mina V. Esguerra and I’m an author and publisher of romance books. I write mainly contemporary romance, and have published 27 titles since 2009. [Books listed here: https://minavesguerra.com/books/minas-books/]



I founded #RomanceClass, a community of Filipino authors of romance in English. Since 2013, we’ve helped 80+ Filipino authors write and publish over 100 romance books. Today #RomanceClass includes our readers and the creatives who help us make the books.


I give talks and lectures about writing, publishing, and developing writing communities. I’ve presented my work with RomanceClass (recently) at the Brisbane Writers Festival 2022, National Book Development Board’s Philippine International Literary Festival 2022, Toronto Romance Writers Northern Hearts Conference 2021, Philippine International Comics Festival 2021, Philippine International Copyright Summit 2021, Book Development Association of the Philippines ”Lockdown Lit” 2020, International Association for the Study of Popular Romance Digital Forum 2020, margins conference 2020, and more.
My educational and career background is in communication (Ateneo de Manila University), and development communication (University of the Philippines).
